Poland expands SENT system to include clothing and footwear
As of March 17, 2026, Poland will extend its electronic transport monitoring system SENT (System Elektronicznego Nadzoru Transportu) to include textiles and footwear. This means that these product groups will also be subject to mandatory reporting via the PUESC platform.
What does this mean in concrete terms?
Shipments of clothing and footwear must be registered electronically for import, export, and transit through Poland once defined thresholds are exceeded.
Goods already monitored:
- Fuels (diesel, gasoline, LPG, heating oil)
- alcoholic beverages
- tobacco products
- certain chemicals
- vegetable oils and fats
- coal and coal products
- certain waste products
New as of March 17, 2026:
- Clothing (KN 61, 62) and used clothing (KN 6309) reporting requirement from: gross weight > 10 kg
- Footwear (KN 64) reporting requirement from: more than 20 pieces (e.g. 10 pairs)
- Mixed consignments: reporting requirement from total weight > 10 kg
Background of the regulation:
The aim is to increase control over the flow of goods to combat tax evasion and illegal trade in the textile industry.
Important note for shippers and recipients: Violations may result in significant fines.
