HafenCityRun 2025

Hafen City Run 2025 – Run, Connect, Help

An event with meaning

The HafenCity Run has long been an integral part of Hamburg's event calendar. What makes it special is its social impact: The run is organized by the Hamburger Abendblatt in cooperation with the foundation "Hamburger Abendblatt hilft eV." Instead of focusing on top athletic performance or rankings, it's about participation,

Team spirit – and doing good together.

The entry fees and donations go towards social projects in the region, especially for children, families, and disadvantaged people. It was precisely this combination of sporting commitment and social responsibility that motivated us to participate again in 2025.

Arrive, exchange, set off

Last Saturday the time had come: Our team took part in the HafenCity Run 2025 in Hamburg for the fifth time – with a lot of motivation, team spirit and a good cause in mind.

We met in good time before the official start at the event site in Hamburg's HafenCity. The atmosphere there was already relaxed and welcoming.

chatter and laughter. Teams from a variety of companies, clubs, and organizations gathered to get ready for the run.

The atmosphere was relaxed and cheerful – the weather could hardly have been better.

Before the race began, we took an official group photo with the organizers. And then the moment had come: The course was opened, the spirits rose, and our team – 15 runners – set off. The course led us through the streets of HafenCity – past modern architecture, waterfront views, and numerous spectators who encouraged us with applause and cheers.

One team, many stories

We were especially pleased to welcome our youngest runners: the young daughter and son of two colleagues. They accompanied our team hand in hand along the course – a beautiful example of intergenerational solidarity.

Equally impressive – a fellow runner was temporarily confined to a wheelchair due to an unforeseen operation and was accompanied by her husband for the entire distance.

accompanied – a strong sign of team spirit and support.

Our team was diverse in terms of athletic ability – we ran at a common pace, with consideration for all participants.

Our fans also supported us: wearing our jerseys, they cheered us on loudly and captured the best moments on camera. They made sure no one crossed the finish line unnoticed.

Toast, fade away, reflect

After about four kilometers through HafenCity, we crossed the finish line together and toasted with a beer. Management provided cold drinks.

And our colleague Inga provided us with crispy sticks from her favorite bakery. The get-together was a lovely way to end the day, with long discussions about the run, little incidents, and funny experiences.

Organization in the background – Thank you

What many people didn't realize: This year, the entire preparation for our participation was once again in the hands of our trainee Sina. Working closely with one of our managing directors, Karsten Schmidt, she took care of everything – from registration and jersey ordering to on-site coordination. Thanks to her meticulous planning, everything ran smoothly on the day of the event.

HafenCity Run 2026 – we’re back at the start!

For each of our colleagues, the HafenCity Run was more than just a running event. It was a day full of great encounters, team spirit, and lots of fun.

We would like to thank the organizer for the smooth organization and for the important message behind it – we will be there again in 2026!
