Olympics and Paralympics in Hamburg – Impulses for the City's Future
On April 16, 2026, we participated in the "Olympia and Paralympics: Chamber of Commerce Pentathlon" event at the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce.
The event offered a successful combination of professional exchange and interactive elements.
After informative presentations on the opportunities of a potential Olympic bid, a practical part followed: in the pentathlon, with disciplines such as ping pong, mini golf, wheelchair basketball,
quiz, and memory, the focus was primarily on personal exchange. Overall, the event was a complete success, convincing both in terms of content and atmosphere.
The discussions clearly showed that the potential impacts go far beyond sports. A bid could act as a catalyst for central future topics – especially in the areas of
infrastructure, mobility, and sustainable urban development.
Economically, there are also numerous opportunities: investments, new jobs, and long-term location advantages. Furthermore, Hamburg would gain greater international recognition and be positioned as a modern, future-oriented metropolis.
Socially, the Olympic and Paralympic Games offer the opportunity to strengthen cohesion and provide impulses for inclusion and participation.
Our conclusion
The event confirmed our assessment: the opportunities for Hamburg are diverse and sustainable.
We therefore clearly advocate for the Olympics in Hamburg and see it as a great opportunity for the future development of the city.
